Phil Charginski

This is simply a trial run for our One Example page.  We will place a couple of photos of Phil, audio or video of various North students who are trying to be an Example by refraining from drugs and alcohol.  The intent is not to flaunt superiority but to show people that, although it's difficult, not all students drink and use drugs.

...3...2...1...Launch

Recently we launched Example at Lutheran North High School. Example is a student group that believes there are plenty of God-pleasing alternatives to drinking and drug use.

Example is based on I Timothy 4:12 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

We started Example because substance abuse is wrong. That’s the bottom line.
We also wanted to let people know that everyone is NOT drinking or using other drugs. Through Example, students have an opportunity to gain strength from each other, help educate their friends about the evils of substance abuse and enjoy entertaining alternatives to the weekend drug-fest. Students get a chance to witness their love for Jesus Christ and show their friends they care about them by taking a stand against substance abuse.

We are striving to lead a God-pleasing, drug-free life.
The answer to fighting drug use is not found in not drinking and driving; it’s found in not drinking and striving to praise our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Being a part of Example means that students recognize the dangers of drug use and understand that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the strongest tool to help fight that battle. Because of our sinful nature, we are doomed to fail if left on our own. God didn’t leave us on our own; He sent Jesus Christ. The forgiving love that we have in Christ, gives us the motivation and strength to resist the temptation of drug use and lead a God-pleasing life armed with the confidence that we are redeemed children of God.
